All students participating in the Erasmus+ Program from the 2014-2015 academic year are required to have Health Insurance to cover the treatments they will receive at the health institutions in the country they will visit. In addition, it is obligatory for Internship Mobility students to take out Liability and Accident Insurance.
The requested health insurance is not travel health insurance! Travel health insurance does not cover your health expenses in the country you are traveling to.

Health Insurance Coverage
The higher education institution is obliged to inform the student that he/she must have health insurance. Travel-Health Insurance is required by some consulates/embassies during visa application.Before applying for a visa, Students should have this insurance cover the internship period with a minimum coverage of 30,000.00 Euros.
Liability Insurance Coverage
Insurance coverage for damages that may be caused to the workplace by the student
The higher education institution is responsible for ensuring that the student has a liability insurance. The Training Agreement contains the information whether this insurance is made by the host enterprise or not. If the mentioned insurance is not required to be made by the business as required by the national legislation of the country of host institution, it cannot be imposed on the workplace to take out the insurance. If the host enterprise does not have to take out this mentioned insurance for student as required by national legislation of the country of host enterprise , it cannot be enforced to take out the insurance.
Accident Insurance Coverage
Insurance coverage for accidents that the student may experience at work
The higher education institution is responsible for ensuring that the student has accident insurance. The Training Agreement contains the information whether this insurance is made by the host enterprise or not. If the host enterprise does not have to take out this mentioned insurance for student as required by national legislation of the country of host enterprise , it cannot be enforced to take out the insurance. If accident insurance is not provided by the host enterprise, the student will take out the insurance.
1) SSI contracted countries and health insurance:
Turkey has a Social Security Agreement with some countries. The contents of SSI agreements may be different for each country.In contracted countries, including health insurance, children who are under the guardianship of working or retired parents in Turkey can benefit from health insurance in the country they go to without any deduction in their SSI rights during their education.In order for the student to benefit from this right, he or she must obtain a document with a different code for each country from SSI. Please learn the procedure you need to follow in order to benefit from health insurance from your SSI branch. The consulates of the country you are visiting can also inform you about the documents they request.
2) Private Health Insurance
If there is no SSI agreement for the country you are visiting, you must have health insurance that covers the entire period of your stay and will cover your health expenses abroad. You must deliver a copy of your insurance policy to the Erasmus Office.

By doing a research for the country you are going to, it will be possible to get your health insurance online in accordance with the desired rules. Although it varies for each country, daily insurance amounts vary between Euro 1.40-Euro 1.94 on average. You can receive your policy via email within half an hour of payment.
