S.Ü. Graduate Education and Training Regulations - Student admission requirements through transfer
ARTICLE 12 - (1) If a student who has taken at least one semester course in a graduate program at the University or another higher education institution and has been successful in all of the courses he / she has taken so far, applies to the relevant institute with the necessary documents (Repealed phrase: RG-3/4/2020-31088) (...) with a petition, with the written opinion of the EAB / department board, with the decision of the institute board of directors, he / she can be accepted by transfer to graduate programs carried out at the University.
(2) Students who have received their undergraduate and/or master's degree in a field different from the master's or doctoral program with thesis to which they transfer can be applied to a scientific preparation program with the decision of the relevant EAB / department board. The time spent in the scientific preparation program is excluded from the normal education and training period.
(3) Students who apply for transfer are required to meet the graduate student admission requirements announced in the semester in which they are eligible to be a student.
(4) (Change: RG-3/4/2020-31088) Students who have less than two semesters left for the maximum normal thesis submission period for master's degree with thesis and less than four semesters left for doctorate cannot apply for transfer.
(5) The courses that the student will take from the courses in the program he / she is accepted and from which stage he / she will continue the graduate program are determined by the institute board of directors by taking the opinion of the EAB / department board. New courses can be given to the student whose transfer is accepted even if he / she has completed the course obligation at the institution he / she comes from.
* (6) In order for master's degree students enrolled at the university with thesis to be admitted to the integrated doctoral program through transfer, they must apply to the institute at the end of the second semester and must meet the following conditions:
a) The student must have at least 80 ALES score from the score type of the program to which the student applies,
b) The undergraduate graduation weighted grade point average must be at least 3.50,
c) To have completed at least 7 courses and 21 credits by the end of the second semester,
ç) Master's degree GPA of at least 3.50,
d) must have met the foreign language requirement for admission to the doctorate program.
* (7) At any stage of their education, integrated doctoral students can transfer to the master's program with thesis in the same EAB / department if they wish. The student's adjustment to the master's program with thesis is made with the decision of the institute board of directors in line with the opinion of the EAB board.
(8) (Addition: RG-3/4/2020-31088) The periods used in the previous education of the student whose transfer is approved are included in the program he / she is accepted. The sum of the time to be given for graduate education and the time spent by the student in the previous program cannot exceed the maximum period specified in this Regulation.
* Important Note: There is no Integrated Doctorate program in our Graduate School.
