3/27/2020 - Institute of Health Sciences
At the meeting of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey dated 12.03.2020, it was decided to suspend all formal education activities for 3 weeks between March 16, 2020 and April 6, 2020 in the context of Coronavirus (Covid-19) measures. In the extraordinary period, it has been decided to implement the following decisions in line with the principles determined by Selçuk University regarding the conduct of the graduate education process.
Faculty members who conduct graduate courses within our institute can conduct their courses using digital technologies (WhatsApp, homework, e-mail and video communication channels, etc.) as of April 6, 2020. The exams of the courses conducted can also be held with the same method. All correspondence regarding the courses and exams of the courses conducted with these methods must be recorded and kept in a way to be submitted upon request by our Graduate School.
If possible, seminars to be held in this period should be held after May 2020 (including the summer semester). Virtual classrooms will be created by S.U. Distance Education Center and/or the Department of Information Technologies in order to conduct proficiency and thesis defense exams virtually.
These exams and, if needed, thesis monitoring committee meetings can be held via virtual classrooms. The jury members who physically attend the meeting must conduct the exam and sign the relevant documents by complying with the social distancing rule. A report on the way the exam is conducted must be prepared and signed by those who physically attend the meeting.
All documents must be submitted by the advisor of the relevant student to the Head of A.B.D. and sent to our Graduate School with a cover letter. It has been evaluated that the doctoral qualifying exams, which should be held in April-May, will be held in the two-month period after the virtual classes are created, and the thesis monitoring committee meetings, which should be held in January-June for the 2019-2020 spring semester, will be held until the end of August 2020. In case of new developments regarding the process, information will be provided by our Institute.
It is announced to our students.
