General Information

About:In the Department of Traditional Turkish Arts; It is aimed to train experts who are visionary, open to development, researcher, and who can transfer tradition to the future. For this purpose, with the course contents covering Traditional Turkish Arts, students are provided to specialize in their fields. Students' participation in national and international symposiums, workshops and competitions is supported, resulting in a thesis study focused on producing a solution to a problem in the field of education process.

 Vision: It is to be an educational institution that leads to the effectiveness of Traditional Turkish Arts within this framework by raising internationally competent, pioneering, researchers and experts with artistic competence in their field. 

Mission: It is aimed to raise individuals who have achieved academic development, have an investigative spirit who can seek solutions to problems, are open to innovations, can express themselves, and contribute to the academic progress needed by the country.

Program Language: Turkish   

Program Description:The master's program with thesis consists of at least seven courses, seminars, field courses and thesis, with a total of not less than 21 credits. Seminar, specialization course and thesis work are non-credit and are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. A minimum of 30 ECTS credits, including master's program with thesis, specialization course in one semester, seminar course and other courses taken, and thesis work, application work, (exhibition, project, seminar) and other activities in department programs. It consists of 120 ECTS credits. 

Admission and Registration Conditions:Students who graduated from the undergraduate programs of the "Traditional Turkish Arts" departments of various faculties of universities can apply to this program. Among the applicants, candidates who meet the exam requirements announced by the department in advance and who are successful as a result of the science exam and portfolio evaluation made by the department can register within the announced quota. 

Recognition of Prior Learning:For students who want to transfer from higher education institutions in Turkey and abroad to Selcuk University Social Sciences Institute Departments, the provisions of the regulation on the principles of transfer between graduate programs, double major, minor and inter-institutional credit transfer are applied.

 Graduation Requirements:Students who provide at least 120 ECTS credits in total, 60 ECTS for courses and seminars and 60 ECTS for master's thesis along with specialization courses and other activities, can graduate. 

Measurement and Evaluation Principles:Measurement and evaluation are made based on the conditions determined in the Education and Examination Regulations of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Selcuk University. 

Employment Opportunities:It is to keep Turkish Art alive, develop and promote it by raising talented researchers/artists who can bring different perspectives to science and art in the light of cultural developments in the national and international platform, using the universal language of art, who have adopted the deep-rooted Turkish culture, can combine technology with the experience from the past, and have a multi-faceted investigative spirit.

 Transition to Higher Degree Programs:Students who successfully complete the Master's Program can apply to study for proficiency in arts and doctoral programs.
